Why do mink need controlling?
Mink are non native, originating from North America. Some escaped, but most were deliberately realeased from fur farms by animal rights
activists.
Mink have caused havoc with our native wildlife, especially water voles and birds. They will also kill domestic pets, poultry and fish given the
chance.
How are mink controlled?
Mink have to be trapped and destroyed, and this must be done professionally to prevent suffering, and to avoid the possibility of injury from the
mink.
Release of trapped mink is illegal.
